Holiday Coed 6s returns December 12

The Holiday Coed 6s Volleyball Tournament returns Saturday, December 12 at Yale Secondary, an all-day coed 6s event hosted with the Yale athletic department, whose athletes keep score throughout the day.

If you've never played it: pool play runs in the morning to sort teams by results, and the afternoon becomes tiered playoffs so every team spends the whole day in games at its own level. Check-in opens at 8:00am, first serve is 8:30, and awards wrap around 4:00pm. Total playing time works out to four or five hours per team. Bring non-marking shoes and plan to stay for the lunch break, because nothing is close by.

Two traditions make this one special. First, the costumes: prizes go to the best holiday outfits, and past years have seen full elf squads, competitive ugly sweaters, and at least one complete team of Santas. Second, the food drive. We collect donations for the Abbotsford Food Bank at the door, so bring a non-perishable item along with your kneepads.

Entry is $270 per team, or $45 as an individual and we will place you on a team that fits your level. Top teams take home Champion T-Shirts. Spectators are always welcome and admission is free.
